About Us

Central United Church welcomes all people to come and participate regardless of race, faith (or no faith), age, sexual orientation, marital status, gender, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic background or gender identity.

Located in the heart of downtown Moncton we are a small, enthusiastic congregation with a serious commitment to outreach, building partnerships and rethinking what Christianity is.

The United Church of Canada

We are a member of the United Church of Canada, and we offer a non-traditional approach to exploring spiritual beliefs and how they can influence your life.  As part of the United Church of Canada, these are our shared beliefs – what-we-believe.

Our Vision

The people of Central United Church acknowledge that the lives of countless living species, including human beings, are today threatened with extinction.  We believe that this has resulted, in part, from a fundamental lack of love, respect, protection and recognition of essential diversity for both humanity and nature.

We have embarked on a journey of change through on-going education.  Rooted and nurtured in the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, we are rethinking the Christian story.

We have committed to being a safe community where the dignity and worth of all persons is affirmed – regardless of age, gender, race, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, faith or no faith, ability, ethnicity and socioeconomic circumstance.

If these values speak to you, we invite you to consider becoming part of this ongoing journey as we seek peace, hope, and justice.

Our Team

We are presently in the process of hiring a new full time minister for our congregation.

Rev. Audrey Lounder is working with us as our Pastoral Relations Liaison with the region to help us on our journey.

Rev. Peggy Reid will attend to Central’s acute pastoral care needs until June.

Rev. Jane Douall will be our Pastoral Charge Supervisor for the time being as well.

We are having various speakers including Licensed Lay Worship Leaders Carol Scott, Lisa Folkins and special guests for the next few months.

Also, we are enjoying various musicians including Pianist Paul Richard to lead us in singing.

Our office administrator, Anna McCuaig is in the office from 10 am – 2 pm Monday to Friday – reach out to her if you have any questions 506-857-3186 or centralunitedchurch@nb.aibn.com

We are also privileged to have Mark Beers of Clean Marks Services handle our custodial needs.
